Crashing the Concorso Italiano

The temperature was dropping, the fog was moving into the golf course, and I left my fleece vest in the van. To say I was cold is to also to make fun of the fact that I was born and raised in the Northeast. However, nothing was going to take me away from what was sitting on the green in front of me; A Lamborghini Miura!

After spending the first day at Laguna Seca for The 2017 Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion, I rode along with a good friend to the Concorso Italiano; where he was planning to put on display his latest project car: a Lotus Europa S2. Unfortunately, the original plan never panned out as the staff couldn’t display the car citing “difficulties and red-tape”. However, I managed to sneak away more than once to check out what was on the course, and witness some truly incredible machines. On the course was a certain YouTuber’s prized Lamborghini Aventador Super Veloce Roadster, an adorable Fiat-Abarth 750 Zagato, and of course, The Lamborghini Miura.

Most of my attention was centered on the Miura as soon as I saw it. The crowds have long since left and most of the cars were now under covers. The Miura however, was uncovered and unattended; almost as if it had been waiting to have its portraits taken. Using a newly acquired vintage lens (interestingly, with a broken aperture ring), I got to work!
